Salvation And Water

Water, water, water, all you people ever talk about is water! Why must you always mention water? Uh, well, because God does. Some people will tell you to just raise your hand and pray a prayer, or send them money, and you will be saved, but God doesn't say that. I've read the Bible through several times and have yet to find that prayer or prescription for salvation, but I'll gladly share what I have read!

Matthew 28:19-20

Mark 16:15-16

John 3:3-5

Acts 2:38-39

Acts 22:16

Romans 6:3-4

1 Corinthians 12:13

Galatians 3:26-27

Ephesians 5:25-27

Colossians 2:11-13

Titus 3:5

1 Peter 3:21

So, I'm not going to trade water I read about in all these places, for a prayer I find in none of them. Acts is the how to do church book, with examples of how to be saved. Check these out!

The multitude in Acts 2

The Ethiopian in Acts 8

Paul in Acts 9 and his recounting in Acts 22

Cornelius in Acts 10

Lydia in Acts 16

The Philippian jailer in Acts 16

They hear the word, decide whether or not they want to believe what they've heard, and then respond in obedience in baptism. As the words of an old song say, "Step into the water, wade in a little bit deeper, step into the water of His love..."
