That's true of a lot of things, isn't it? I thought of that again this morning when I cleaned up after breakfast. I wanted comfy clothes for a day of bowl game watching, so I chose some gray sweat pants. They belonged to my wife's father. He passed away in 1995, so they are at least 29 years old and probably older. They look good. I've had them since he passed away.
The wife's computer battery ceased charging yesterday. It's only 4 years old. Reading about her computer, it says the battery life expectancy is only 4-5 years. Really? The old computer I'm typing on right now has the original battery. It is 14 years old. It still charges well.
You can't sell a lot of product if it lasts very long, so things have shorter and shorter life expectancy- on purpose. Things aren't made to last like they used to be. Don't repair, throw away and buy another.
Aren't you glad God isn't like that with us? He thinks we are worth repairing... worth saving. In fact, He wants to rebuild us so that we will last for eternity. He wants to keep us!
God demonstrated that very thing when He sent Jesus to earth. You know, that birthday we just celebrated!?!
