Have you experienced one yet? I got my first one yesterday at Lubbock. I did everything you are supposed to do, except when I stepped into the body scanner, I had forgotten to take my driver's license and boarding passes out of my back right pants pocket. Well, it showed a yellow square on the screen. I said, "I don't have any metal in my pocket, I thought it just picked up metal." The man and woman stationed at the scanner were nice and told me (explanation) it isn't a metal detector. So the guy, with his gloves on, said I'll need to pat you down. I said, "pat away!" I pulled up my shirt and started to undo my pants, and he put up his hands and said, "Now wait a minute, we have a private area over there if you prefer." I said, "Man, I'm a nurse. This doesn't bother me. You need me to drop my drawers right here in front of everybody I will." He again raises his hands to stop me and said, "I just need to feel inside your waist band, pat your butt, your legs, etc. His other male partners and the woman are laughing. He did his thing and then said, "I guess since you're a nurse you have to do lots worse things than this, so it wouldn't bother you." And then he added, "Thanks for what you do." I returned the thanks and apologized for making him have to do that.
Moral of the story- If you have lint in your pocket, you may want to take it out, unless of course, you too would like to experience the "pat down!" July, 2017
