If you have read my first rambling about something being lost for four months and then found, you might jump to the conclusion that this item was found in the same place, but that is not the case.
One of my daughter's gave me a t-shirt as a gift. I haven't had it very long. I've only worn it a couple of times. I have been wanting to wear it again, but it has been missing for a few weeks. As you might imagine, the wife and I have searched high and low for it, or so we thought.
I did some grilling today after Mizzou survived their homecoming football game. When the cooking was completed I showered. Naturally, after showering, I wanted to get dressed, and again wanted that t-shirt.
Perhaps this happens at your house... you do some laundry, let's say some shirts, put the shirts on hangers, and put them in the closet. Once in awhile, a shirt of mine will end up with the wife's shirts in her closet, or vice versa. However, that was not the case, as confirmed by our earlier searches. How can a shirt just disappear?
My search resumed after today's shower, and a thought occurred to me. My casual shirts, including t-shirts, hang on the bottom rack of my closet. They don't touch the floor, but there is not much clearance either. Maybe one of the hangers, with the t-shirt on it, fell on the floor and was hidden by my other shirts. I started spreading my shirts and looking. Sure enough, I found not only the missing shirt crumpled up under the others, but another shirt I didn't even notice was missing as well!
Sometimes, a casual reading of Luke 15 does not always yield the appropriate amount of appreciation. But, when something has been missing for several weeks or months, and then is found, you can nod your head and smile.
