When I worked at the hospital, I got three and a half hours of sleep between shifts, worked a scheduled twelve and a half hours which often turned into more, and slept five to six hours a night when not working.
After switching to days taking care of my boy, I average six hours of sleep per night, and work ten and a half hour days.
Last Saturday, I slept nine and a half hours. I haven't done that in at least twenty years.
Last night, and the night before, I slept for eight hours which is unusual for me.
There is a group of people who say the twenty four hours of a day are divided into three parts- one for our normal vocation, one for service to others, and one for refreshment and sleep. While I have not achieved this balance, it seems I am getting closer to the sleep part!
