It was a rainy, cold, windy day all day. Worst weather day of our trip. Still, we checked out some shops on the way to Galway (city) and then saw some cool stuff in town.
The Spanish Arch in Galway.
Below is part of the original city wall.
Of course, there had to be food! Spice Bags were a new thing for us. Chicken strips, chips (fries), some seafood, some veggies, all spiced up in a bag. You could eat while walking around. Very good! Recommend!
You can't take ladies to town without doing some shopping, right?
And shopping requires an ice cream break.
Couldn't resist snapping this. Since many of their dishes contain bacon, sausage, or ham, do they plan to import it all from terrible hog killers like the U.S.? Maybe they are vegan? Or Islamic? Note that this was in the entryway of a shop in the city, not in the country. Not so different from here, eh?
This was a monument/tribute to sailors/sailing vessels. They do not call them sailboats, they call them hookers. Try as we might we couldn't get used to that!
