Musical legacy

silaslowe763

I grew up in a family that played music.... piano, organ, fiddle, guitar, acoustic bass, clarinet, trumpet, french horn, accordion, etc..

When my grandson was born, I started accumulating instruments with the hope that when he grew older, he would want to try playing something. Some of the instruments are from family- Grandpa Green's guitar, one of Grandpa Green's fiddles, Grandma Green's acoustic bass. The first thing I bought when he was born was a school drum kit, which included a snare drum and set of bells, complete with stands, sticks, and mallets. Not long after that, I bought a used full drum kit from a friend. When he got old enough, 2 or 3, he could hit the drums with the sticks and step on the high hat and bass drum pedals. He didn't seem that interested in it, and a full kit takes up some space, so it lives at a boy's house in Clark now. I was also able to bring my mom's piano back from Texas and it lives at his house now.

This Christmas, my oldest daughter (his aunt and uncle) gave him a youth model guitar. He seems pretty excited about it, and in fact, has been talking about wanting a guitar. So now this Grandpa is excited! Not to be outdone, little sister was given a Ukulele for Christmas by her other grandparents (Grammy & Gimp). Woo hoo!

Let the music begin!
