On the way to Kilkenny we stopped to stretch the legs around the Rock of Cashel. In Irish history, many significant events took place here. Perhaps the most notable was the crowning of Brian Boru as High King of Ireland in 1002.
Look! Free public toilets!!!
We did not go into the Castle. It is easy to get "castled out!" But we did walk around the town of Cashel a bit. Again, I thought I had pictures...
Late lunch at Feehan's in Cashel. I had a hot roast beef sandwich (seasoned differently and with different ingredients than ours, but delicious!) on a floury bap type bun, served with fries and onion rings which we thought interesting. Paula had a warm honey chicken salad. I also had my first Smithwick's, or Smitty, which is a very good red ale.
