It is, at times, hard to imagine all of the fighting, blood, and gore in the past, when you see the beauty here.
This is the home on the castle grounds of the family who owns the castle. Quite the little cottage! You can see the scaffolding here and in the next picture where renovations go on even as they live there.

We paused walking for a bit to enjoy a coffee and Guinness. Not one to miss an opportunity, cards always at the ready, Theresa made us all play. Not all Missourians can say they played Pitch or Clubs Rule on the grounds of Blarney Castle!
One interesting aspect of the gardens, to me at least, was the poison garden. Here they grew all of the plants used to cause harm. I thought I had several pics of the plants, but I was wrong.
