From the kitchen of Jason Martie
Ingredients:
2 cups crushed graham crackers
1/2 cup butter
dark chocolate chips (approx. 1/2 cup)
butterscotch chips (approx. 1/3 cup)
white chocolate chips (approx. 1/3 cup)
pecan pieces or nut of choice (approx. 1/4 cup)
coconut if desired (we leave it out due to an allergy)
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
line a 9x13 glass baking dish with parchment or wax paper overlapping sides of dish a bit
blend crushed graham crackers with melted butter in a mixing bowl
spread moist cracker mixture over bottom of pan and pat firmly and evenly
hint: hold the paper in place with one hand while patting crackers in place
sprinkle the dark chocolate chips in amount desired
repeat with butterscotch and then white chips
hint: I don't measure the chips, just sprinkle as desired
sprinkle the nuts in amount desired
if desired - sprinkle the coconut over the surface
here's the hardest part - drizzle the can of sweetened condensed milk evenly over the ingredients
hint: you can't spread it, it's too thick and will just drag up the other ingredients in heaps. I use a spoon to drizzle it out evenly.
bake in oven at 325 degrees for 25-30 minutes, or until the the sweetened condensed milk is brown on the edges of the dish, and the bubbles in the middle start to brown a little
let cool and then cover to keep moist
if you are going to cut them the same day, let cool and use the parchment or wax paper to lift out of pan and onto cutting surface. Your dish is already clean, and you just wad the paper up and toss in trash after cutting into squares, rectangles, or whatever shape.
Hint: if cutting and storing in another container, place wax paper between the layers to keep them from sticking together!
Now try to eat just one! Enjoy!
