Germy Nurse

Well, trying to help my mom through her worst days after chemo has been quite a challenge. Woke up with a little tickle in my throat the day I started driving to Lubbock. By mid-afternoon I had a fever, headache, sore throat, body aching all over, so I stopped at a CVS Pharmacy in Wichita Falls, TX and bought some meds, some supplies, and a thermometer. Got a hotel room in Wichita Falls, called mom and told her I would be out the next day as long as my temp went down. Took a hot shower, climbed in bed early and pulled up the covers. Next morning my temp was normal. Wore my masks and gloves until I had gone 24 hours temp free. Then this afternoon my temp went back up and the aches and sore throat returned, along with runny nose and a few sneezes- still on the meds, still wearing mask/gloves, and only going downstairs to care for mom when needed. Fortunately, yesterday was the one good day before her two really bad days, today and tomorrow. Using clorox on everything, washing my hands, and changing my clothes like crazy. Mom doesn't care... she's just glad I'm here, but I don't want to make her sicker than she is. God will have to provide the rest of the protection she needs that I can't. I love my momma! If I hadn't been so close I would have turned around and gone home, but here I am. January, 2018
