As we age, we are often advised to have certain tests done. Sometimes, this advice stems from our own medical history, while other times it is just an age recommendation.
Well, today I had an EGD (upper endoscopy) and colonoscopy #6. Obviously, I don't care who knows. If you have never watched Jeff Foxworthy's narrative about his first colonoscopy, you need to. It is hilarious! Must see before each procedure!
The procedures themselves are easy, as you are having a great nap - Thank You, Propofol!
The prep is the fun part. I don't mind drinking the stuff as much as I mind not eating.
I can go days without food by choice, unless someone tells me I can't eat, and then I want food! And a clear liquid diet? I mean jello, broth, and liquids only go so far. I want to sink my teeth into something!
So, the first meal after I'm done is always a treat. Normally, it's lunch, but I was first today, so it was breakfast. Break the fast and clear liquid diet I did!
3 eggs over easy, 2 slices of country ham, a side order of bacon, biscuits and gravy, grits, fried apples, and multiple cups of coffee! Yum, yum!!!
