Batter Up!

I love baseball. Today, I had tickets to MU Tigers vs. Purdue Fort Wayne. I was going to go by myself, as my wife was going to MU Gymnastics with one of her friends. My wife is really the social one of the two of us. In fact, she was at a wedding shower for a daughter of another long time friend yesterday, where she invited the father of the bride to be, to go to the game with me. I was just too bashful to invite anyone!

So, I picked him up in south COMO after church, and to the game we went. He and I are not strangers. We served as youth ministers at the same time and our youth groups had some activities together, like 30-Hour Famine. We served at the same church camp. We were both volunteer instructors for Tri-County Christian School in Macon. And after he and his wife moved to Tomball, Texas my wife and I visited them. Prior to that, when they went to a church in Anderson, Indiana, we visited them there. But, it has been a few days (or a few years) since I had seen him.

As guys often do, we just picked up where we left off, and had a good time catching up while we watched the Tigers win 20-2 on a nice, sunny afternoon. Baseball often brings people together, and that was the case again today!

Don't give in!

Satan wants you to accept sin as normal. Therefore, he will get people to insert certain sins into things you like most. I love baseball....

They Don't Make 'Em Like They Used To

That's true of a lot of things, isn't it? I thought of that again this morning when I cleaned up after breakfast. I wanted comfy clothes...
