Last Saturday was my grandson's first soccer game of the spring. Soccer 2.0. What a difference a year makes. Last year he was four, timid, and too polite to take the ball from anyone. He has been taught to share. But he had fun!
This year, he is the tiniest one on his team. I told grandma I didn't mind that at all. He may be the starting tailback of his football team one day, and be through the hole and down the field before anyone sees him! At five, he is running faster, quicker routes to the spot, not nearly so timid, but most importantly, he is still having fun!
What a thrill it is to be a grandpa watching his young grandson smiling and having fun!
I love that kid!
